Who? Where? How?
This naturally charismatic blue-eyed boy is a true Delhiite or Dilli ka launda as they’re popularly referred to. Sidharth Malhotra did his schooling from Birla Vidya Niketan. He kicked-off his career while he was in college and pursued little stints in various magazines and ad campaigns. He garnered a lot of attention by modelling for Roberto Cavalli and subsequently started appearing on several magazine covers for eminent names like Redbook, Gladrags and Men’s health. He even appeared in a couple of commercials for NIIT and Pantaloons.
Sidharth Malhotra steps in Bollywood :
Later, he let go of his modelling career as he got an opportunity to be an assistant director for the high-budget King Khan starrer ‘My Name Is Khan’ in 2010. Finally, he made his acting debut in Karan Johar’s directorial venture ‘Student of the Year’ opposite the other two smouldering debutants Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. His performance in the movie was not only well received by the critics but gained rave reviews. A filmfare journalist after watching Student of the Year remarked, “Both Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan are excessively talented, supremely confident and hardly look like first-time actors. Photogenic, charming and self-assured, it’s tough to say who’s better, Sidharth Malhotra or Varun Dhawan. Both shine in their respective roles, both enact their parts with gusto. Sidharth Malhotra is terrific, while Varun is a talent one can’t help but marvel at. In fact, all three, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are here to stay!”

The Dazzling Debut Diaries:
Some respected critics have also said that Karan has deliberately taken these debutants because he, as a veteran director has witnessed a colossal spark and spunk in them that is imperative to make it big in Bollywood. They certainly could not set the big screen ablaze like say, a Hrithik or a Ranbir Kapoor did in their debut movies but surely their ingeniousness is worth acknowledging. This has been very well evidenced by the gross box office collections totaling over around 70 crore domestically. Additionally, the songs ‘Radha’ and the ‘Disco Song’ became excessively popular among the masses and maintained the #1 position on the charts for a very long time.
Sidharth Malhotra has now teamed up with another newcomer actor Parineeti Chopra for ‘Hasee toh Phasee’ directed by Vinil Mathew. Sidharth Malhotra is geared up excited about the reviews and recently quoted- “He is lost, not successful and sentimental. He is not a typical hero kind of character. He is under pressure and is the most stressed out character of the movie.”The movie is doing extremely well at the box office currently and is gathering glowing reviews. Mohar Basu of Koimoi said “In every bit Sidharth Malhotra matches up to Parineeti’s terrific work with equal gusto. He is gregarious but restrained and there is a serene calmness in his performance which makes him a smashing hit. To compliment Parineeti’s boisterousness is quite a challenge and so far he is the co-star she is best suited with.” and described his chemistry with Chopra as “lively, heartfelt chemistry with confidence.”
