Karishma Kapoor, who is also known as Lolo, was born on June 25, 1974 to the Bollywood pair Randhir Kapoor and Babita. She is the great grand-daughter of yesteryear star Prithvi Raj Kapoor and grand-daughter of Raj Kapoor. Famous Bollywood heroine Kareena Kapoor is her younger sister and Bollywood’s Casanova Ranbir Kapoor is her first cousin.
Needless to say, she was born and brought up in Mumbai. She was a student of Cathedral and John Connon School and attended Sophia College for a few months before she started her acting career in 1991. Her debut movie was ‘Prem Qaidi’, which was a semi hit. After that, she failed to make a prominent mark till 1995. Her career took a positive turn in 1996 with ‘Raja Hindustani’ alongside Aamir Khan. She never looked back again and became one of the most popular Bollywood star. She also won a National Award for her role in for ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’.
Karishma Kapoor took a permanent sabbatical in 2003, however being closely linked to Bollywood she was always seen in several promotional events, in reality shows- as a judge as well as guests, award functions, etc. Her style sense has always stood out and even after being away from mainstream Bollywood, she still causes a stir with her style sense!
