Mandira Bedi – An Actor, an anchor and now a Fashion Designer too!
Though her filming career was not as successful as expected, she has had an amazing and a joyful career ride till date. After a few films, she moved on to the small screen, did a number of powerful roles and acted flawlessly. After this, she started anchoring for the IPL and even hosted many TV shows and events and currently has entered into the fabulous world of designing who has the potential to do wonders with the fabrics. Well, we are talking about none other than the Indian model, actress, anchor, and television presenter and now a great Indian fashion designer – Mandira Bedi.
Born in Kolkata, brought up in Mumbai and has her roots in Punjab, did her post-graduation in Media from Sophia Polytech, Mumbai.
The turning point in her life was when she made a debut in the movie, ‘Dilwale Dulhanya Le Jayenge’ in 1995. This movie proved to be a stepping stone in her life after which she gained fame and popularity. She did quite a few strong roles on the small screen – ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and currently in 24. She has hosted many reality shows like ‘Fame Gurukul’ and ‘Deal Ya No Deal’ to name a few.
She shifted her focus from TV serials and became a cricket show anchor. Due to her involvement in sports, especially cricket landed her as the brand ambassador of the Indian Women Cricket Team in 2004 and 2005. Many a times she appeared on magazine covers like Femina, Marie Clair and Cosmopolitan. She still continues exploring her potential and has unleashed the designer in herself.
Recently she launched her design label in Mumbai called ‘MandiraBedi’ and had a number of celebrities as her guest of honor.
