So it boasts of a serene ambience, swanky furnishings and elegant interiors in spite of being, well, just a clinic. In fact, here you don’t have to twitch your nose due to the odor of medicines or read incomprehensible magazines on healthcare. You could just take a peek at photographs of celebrities (who inaugurated the clinics) adorning the walls, admire the huge chandelier glistening over your head or just entertain yourself, courtesy the clinic’s LCD television.
What you get - As far as the healthcare services are concerned, Dr. Batra’s claims to provide treatment for acne, allergies, arthritis, asthma, thyroid, chronic backaches, psoriasis, migraines, pre-menstrual syndrome, piles, obesity, influenza and respiratory disorders, through its team of seven doctors.
Health packages in the form of Gold Card (Rs. 6,500 – 1 year validity), Opal Card (Rs. 11,000 – 2 years validity) and Ruby Card (Rs. 14,500 – 3 years validity) are also available here. These packages include consultation fees for future visits and the cost of medicines. In fact, once you become a member and recommend Dr. Batra’s to others, they will not be required to pay the consultation fees (Rs. 250) for the first visit as well.
Dr. Batra’s has also logged on to the Internet bandwagon and provides online consultation through www.drbatras.com. It has developed customized software and maintains a bank of case studies for this purpose. It therefore means that it can deal even with those patients who reside in areas where Dr. Batra’s does not have a physical presence. The healthcare provider runs a nationwide chain of 50 clinics in India and abroad. It also claims to be the first homeopathic clinic to be awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification.
Our verdict - One good feature about Dr. Batra’s is that its staff is not allowed to use mobile phones inside the clinic. Now that surely is a good “call”. However, one call that it promptly needs to take is with regard to the parking space. After all, ritzy sofas, LCD televisions and cyber-proficiency are not all that it takes to ensure comfort and convenience to the patients. Lack of parking space is likely to irk a potential customer even before he steps into the clinic.
