What you see – Hyderabad Central located at Punjagutta Cross Roads right next to Home Town is definitely not hard to locate. It opened in 2004 in Hyderabad and is part of the Pantaloon Retail Group. There are two entrances into the front of the mall, one leading you to the first floor and the other to the ground floor. Apart from these, there is an entrance to the ground floor from the parking lot.
Hyderabad Central has five floors in all besides two basement floors for parking 400 cars and 600 two-wheelers at the same time. Inside the 2.5 lakh square feet mall, you have the option of taking the stairs, a glass elevator or the escalators.
What you get – On the ground floor there are many restaurants serving various cuisines like Pizza Hut, Noodle Bar, Bombay Blue and Copper Chimney. For those with a sweet tooth there are Baskin Robbins and Cookie Man counters. UK’s popular store Marks & Spencer’s has an exclusive shop here as well. The movie ticket kiosks for PVR are kept quite busy down here. Then there is the supermarket, Food Bazaar, stocked with everything from groceries to toiletries and chocolates and so on. A Fast Track watch counter and a free gift-wrap counter complete this floor.
On the first floor are lingerie counters and a whole selection of women’s western and Indian clothing from brands and designers alike. Allen Solly, Honey, Provogue, Wills Lifestyle, Scullers, And, RIG, 109 Degrees, Levi’s, Neeru’s and Akkritti are just a few of these. Almost half a floor is dedicated to the cosmetic and perfume counters like Chambor, Revlon, Lakme, Hugo Boss, Nina Ricci, Chanel and more. Other counters on the floor include Titan watches, jewelry from Stone N String and Estelle, hair accessories, bags and wallets from Fiorelli, Tommy Hilfiger, Hidesign and Tonino etc.
The second floor has branded and designer western and Indian clothing for men from Allen Solly, Provogue, Levi’s and more. Branded men’s innerwear from Tommy Hilfiger and more can be found here. It has a separate alteration desk and billing counter.
The third floor is for the youth and on it, you will find sports wear that includes clothes and shoes, casual wear for men and women, some travel bags, an alteration desk and billing counters. Java Green a coffee shop allows your tired legs a rest before carrying on to the next floors.
The fourth floor has crockery, cutlery, linen, travel bags, shoes for men, women and children, children’s toys, clothing and games, baby essentials and a kid’s play area. Besides this there is a gift and stationery shop, a Planet M outlet and a shop selling play stations, headsets etc. All this and an Ohri’s food court right here complete your Hyderabad Central shopping experience.
And last and definitely most popular is the PVR cinemas with its five screens, situated on the fifth floor. Popcorn, snacks and drinks counters make it easier to pick something to munch on before entering the hall.
Our verdict – Hyderabad Central is for those who want to go out for a movie, food and some shopping together. One good feature is that there is no fee for parking. Exchange on products is encouraged during weekdays. Accessibility to the cinemas gets tough with it being on the fifth floor. Besides, the exit from the cinema screens after a movie is down a long flight of stairs. Otherwise, it sticks to its tagline well - Shop, Eat and Celebrate.
