What you see – Lotus looks more like an amusement center than a hospital. The rooms are themed on Superman, Clouds, Castle, Hanuman, Ice Cream and more. And then the waiting area called the ‘Space Lounge’ actually has been made like a space ship. What’s more? They even have a play area with swings and other forms of entertainment for kids. And the best part is that it is devoid of the irksome odor that emanates from hospitals otherwise.
What you get – Completely air-conditioned and hygienic, this hospital with six floors has around 150 beds and claims to be the biggest one-stop private children’s hospital in the country. Lotus provides general pediatric care for new-borns to 15-year-olds. Facilities for critical care and surgery, neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care are available here besides eye and tooth care.
The ground floor caters to the outpatients. Their emergency room, which is located on Level 2, is equipped with an operation theatre. Diagnostics area which is on the same level has Radiology and Imaging, CT scan, X-ray, Ultrasound, Echocardiography, GI Lab and Endoscopy facility. The hospital has 15 in-house doctors and around five are available at any time of the day, we were told.
Besides the general ward and twin sharing rooms, Lotus has deluxe and executive suites as well. These special rooms are spacious and well-furnished with even a fridge and television. While the general ward room rent costs Rs. 450 a day, it is Rs. 3,225 for deluxe rooms. The hospital has a pharmacy and a cafeteria as well. Ample parking facilities are available too.
Besides 24-hour service, the hospital has a full-fledged fire fighting mechanism to face any eventuality.
Our verdict – One thing that can be assured of at Lotus is that your kid will not shy away from entering this hospital, courtesy its apt décor and facilities. As far as the waiting time is concerned, you need to be prepared to wait for at least half an hour on most of the days.
